Frequently Asked Questions
How can we help you?
No. The switching process is managed end-to-end by AlterPower RES in coordination with your distribution utility. There is zero interruption to your power supply during the transition.
In most cases, yes. Our indicative rates are competitive with or lower than captive distribution utility rates, and our tariff has minimal to zero adjustment over the contract term—unlike coal-based supply which is exposed to fuel price volatility.
That's a common perception we're working to change. While some RE tariffs were historically higher upfront, renewable energy carries no fuel cost—meaning your rate stays stable over time, unlike coal which is exposed to global fuel price swings. Over a contract term, RE is often cheaper in total cost.
Typically: recent electricity bills (12 months), a valid business registration, proof of account ownership with your current distribution utility, and authorization documents for the signing officer.
Our team will guide you through every step.
Under the EPIRA and ERC rules, contestable customers—those with average monthly demand of 500 kW or higher—are eligible to choose their electricity supplier. Bulk residential end-users (e.g., condominiums, executive villages) may also qualify as aggregated loads.
